Thailand, Bhutan, Cambodia 2010
We visited Thailand before and after touring Bhutan. The first time emphasized historical sites in Bangkok. The second included visits to national parks in the northern Malay Peninsula and around Chiang Mai in the North. The highlight of the trip to Bhutan was the Jakar Tshechu (festival) featuring fantastic dancing. In Cambodia, we focused on the Angkor complex of temples.
Nepal, India 2014
We saw a number of sights in the Katmandu region before traveling to the villages in the Annapurna region. We started in India touring the famous sights in Rajasthan. The search for tiger images took us to Kanha and Bandhavgarh National Parks.
Mongolia 2015
Our wildlife tour led us to see the takhi (wild horse), the Gobi Desert for Siberian ibex, and the Gun Galuut preserve to photograph argali sheep, the White-naped Crane, the Demoiselle Crane, and the Cinereous Vulture.
Turkey, Crete 2016
We covered a lot of ground in Turkey, the most notable being cave villages of Cappadocia, the ancient Hittite capital of Hattusa, and the region around Antalya. The highlight of Crete was the city of Chania.
Vietnam, Cambodia 2017
We saw Hanoi, reprised the Angkor temples, visited Tonle Sap Lake, and sailed the Mekong River.
Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan 2018
The Central Asian "Stans" were highlighted by Silk Road gem of Khiva, eagle hunters, the horse game of Kok-boru, Charyn Canyon and the Assy Plateau.
India, Sri Lanka 2019
The search for tigers continued at Tadoba-Andhari NP. We then went to Kaziranga NP, the land of the giants, were we saw one-horned rhinoceros, smooth-coated otters, and Great Hornbills. It was then onto Sri Lanka featuring a rich culture and wildlife national parks.
India 2020
The Spiti Valley in the high Himalayas are the home of the snow leopard and their prey. The red panda can be seen in Singalila NP.
