Navigating This Site
“Home” is the website entrance and is largely an advertising page. Eventually the map will have buttons to take one to the continent chosen.
“Samplers” has three slide shows: “50 images taken from 2018 - 2020” intended as an introduction, “By Beverly”, and “Endangered Species”. The latter skips all the near threatened and vulnerable also on this site.
“Find” Out More” is a dropdown menu with pages of information
Three modes for mouses click may be used for navigating to the photo galleries on this site:
Dropdown menus in the header
Underlined text in the path or elsewhere
“Click-through” images that have either a hand with an extended index finger or a magnifier symbol when the mouse hovers over the picture
The path structure of this site is
Home > Continents > Continent > Trip page Trip pages in groups of 20 images in bold or link > Lightbox
Continents is a page reached by the dropdown menu listing the continents or underlined text where I have taken pictures.
Continent is one of six pages where the trips within that continent are available. This page can be reached via the dropdown menu or underlined text in the path. There are five compendia on the North America page that collect images over a number of years where only a few images at a place might exist,
“Trip page 1-20 images” is the gallery for the first 20 images from that trip in “masonry” view. The images are thumbnail size but give a quick overview of the shots and a caption for each picture. The production of the masonry display puts the images in a random order.
For those trips with more than 20 images, more pages exist and are reached by clicking on the underlined image numbers on the top right.
The lightbox is opened by mouse clicking on any image in the masonry view and shows the image at a nice size. The lightbox does not present the image caption at this time. The lightbox shows the images in the chronological order they were shot. The light box can be used to scan all the images on that page by clicking on the arrows on the left and right of the picture. The lightbox can be closed by clicking on the “X” on the top right.
